My hat man was around 3 or 4 feet tall with a black cape, top hat that somewhat resembled a witches hat, and a collar that went up covering most of its face. This thing never harmed me but scared the crap out of me for years when I least expected it. I couldn’t look at it directly either. If I did it would float away through a wall or into a closet or something. Although it looks very demonic and harmful it never hurt me or anything. It’s like it curious and wants to spy on you. It’s amazing to find out so many others have experienced the same thing. I however haven’t seen it for over 15years now. I hope my poking around with more information about it doesn’t trigger another visit. It followed me from one home I lived in (Tacoma WA) to another home up north about an hour towards the Seattle area. I often told only close friends about this thing and described it with the hat and cape. I never imagined so many others would have the same or similar description. This is truly amazing… it has to be a real thing. What are the chances of everyone seeing the same thing. Creepy! Also while I was doing some research on this last night the TV turned on by itself to Celebrity Ghost stories then turned off when the program finished. What are the chances of that happening? If I told friends they would think I was nuts.
