It was 1984 I was about 5 years old when I saw something that has always confused me all my life. I was sleeping in my parents room next to them when suddenly I awoke in the night.
I was looking straight at a tall shadowy thin figure wearing a trench coat and a top hat. The person was standing in the doorway to the master bedroom’s restroom. It was a single story house and the restroom had a window.
The person just stood there and then paced back and forth in the restroom several times before exiting out the window. Then I fell asleep.
I thought a person had broken in during the night and I told my mom that a person broke into the restroom during the night and quickly got back out through the window.
My mom showed me the window. When opened it was too small for even a small child to get in. Plus the screen was still on the window. She quickly blamed it on the cartoon Scooby-Doo which was still popular on television.
To this day it still confused me because seeing this figure wearing a trench coat and top hat walking back and forth in the restroom was one of the weirdest memories I still have to this day.
