I am a 45-year-old man, and my story happened when I was about 29 years old and I still have nightmares about it.
I lived alone at the time in a 3 bed 2 bathroom home in Republic Missouri. I had a son that stayed with me every other weekend, and he stayed in one of the bedrooms. I had created a video gaming room out of one of the extra bedrooms so we would have a place to hang out. One day I was hanging out in the playroom playing a video game. I was the only person in the house and it was about 3 PM in the afternoon, it was a pretty decent day outside.
I was focused on playing the video game when I looked up for some reason and in the doorway I saw a tall shadow standing in the open doorway. It looked like a man in a coat wearing a brimmed hat. The shadow was soo dark. I didn’t see facial features. Just his body outlined. And his hands, I watched his fingers moving. He stood looking at me. This needless to say startled the Crap outta me! And I reacted the only way I could. I yelled at it to leave. And began to pray. I was freaked out yet stood my ground. I felt trapped in the room. It stood in the doorway for about 15 seconds or so. Then it just vanished. The craziest thing I’ve ever experienced. I am a very religious man and wouldn’t have believed this story if I hadn’t experienced it myself. I hear stories that people say it’s sleep paralysis related. But I don’t think so. Believe me when I tell you that I was wide awake. And it was daylight outside. It was truly strange. For years I thought it was looking in cause it thought I was my little boy in there playing. I actually have a follow-up story to this theory. Let me know if you would like the follow-up story.
